SILENT DESCENT, 24” x 36”, 1992
In the stillness of the forest, the great snowy owl silently descends. We catch a glimpse of it before it vanishes in the dense mist. Tundra born, the owl is most accustomed to forest, lakes or towns, yet must find food in its new surroundings. The snowy owl can survive days without food, living off it’s fat reserves while hunting. It’s dense feathers shield its body from the devastating cold wind, and it’s wings are muffled with soft feathers that make it’s fight silent. This painting was released as a limited edition print.
