EYES OF THE WOLF, 11” x 26.5” 1992
This is a portrait of a swift and powerful predator, the black wolf. For centuries, the black wolf has been depicted in mythology and folklore as a creature of the shadows, half demon, half beast. The painting was designed to present the cold menacing stare of the wolf on a cold night. This painting was released in a limited edition print, and also as a special edition which included a pair of paintings of black wolves. The other painting showed a black wolf family in an ice den entitled ‘Black River Ice Caves” (see below and the thumbnail under Wildlife) . The prints were commissioned by Ontario Crimestoppers to raise funds for their anti-poaching program.
