GREAT SNOWY OWL, 22” x 32” 1988
Great Snowy Owl was the first painting that I did that was released as a limited edition print published in support of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). In 1988 the WWF selected this piece for a limited edition of 500 prints as fundraising project. This was my first limited edition print. The owl is shown in a burned out forest. The image is monotone in color, almost bordering on black and white, which I was hoping would give it a muted mysterious atmosphere.
NORTHERN PINTAILS, 18” x 30” 1991
The northern Pintail duck is one of our most elegant looking waterfowl. The Pintail drakes have such distinctive markings and rich color, that it is easy for the observer to discern their species and sex at a glance. In this painting, the crisp lines and colors of the male pintails is complemented by the swirling lines and colors of the surface of the water.
