LION CUBS , 18” x 30”, 1978
A pair of carefree lion cubs done with pen and ink. This was my medium of choice before I started painting with acrylics. The method is called ‘pointillism’ whereby thousands of small distinct dots are placed one at a time with special pens of different sizes. Needless to say it is time consuming, hard on the eyes, and can be frustrating. I did many images with this method including some that were done in multiple colors.
