MOUNTAIN MARE & FOAL, 24” x 36”, 2015
These are a mare and foal from Friesdale farms in south central Wisconsin. Our friend is a breeder who crosses a Friesian to a Clydesdale (a Friesdale) which produces a stunning horse that moves like a dream and is a sweet, gentle giant. This painting shows the mare (Yatzi) running with her foal (Polo). While the photos of the horses were taken on her farm, I placed the horses running from a storm in the mountains.
